I have been wanting to make some Christmas themed granny squares for a long time, but I have had so many other Christmas makes they have got left behind! However, I have finally got some Christmas themed granny squares completed!. I would love to make these into a Christmas jumper so keep an eye out for that in the future, but I need to make a few more before I can do that!
First up in the crochet granny squares Christmas series is a present themed granny square, complete with bow!

Materials:
- 4.5mm crochet hook.
- DK wool in white (50g), red (10g), and green (10g).
Crochet Granny Square Christmas Series: Christmas Present
Using a 4.5mm hook and green, ch4, ss into 1st stitch to make a ring, into ring:
Round 1: ch3 (doesn’t count as a stitch), 3tr(UK)/dc(US), (ch2, 3tr(UK)/dc(US)) 3 times, ch2 ss into top of 1st tr(UK)/dc(US) of the round, change to red during ss.
Round 2: ch3 (doesn’t count as a stitch), 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap, (ch1, [3tr(UK)/dc(US), ch2, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap]) 3 times, ch1, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap, ch2, ss into top of 1st tr(UK)/dc(US) of the round.
Round 3: ch3 (doesn’t count as a stitch), 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap, (ch1, change to green, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch1 gap, ch1, change to red, ([3tr(UK)/3dc(US), ch2, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap]) 3 times, ch1, change to green, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch1 gap, change to red, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap, ch2, ss into top of 1st tr(UK)/dc(US) of the round, change to white during ss.
Round 4: ch3 (doesn’t count as a stitch), 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap, (ch1, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch1 gap twice, ch1, [[3tr(UK)/dc(US), ch2, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap]) 3 times, ch1, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch1 gap twice, 3tr(UK)/dc(US) into ch2 gap, ch2, ss into top of 1st tr(UK)/dc(US) of the round.
Fasten off.
To make the bow, using a 4.5mm hook and green wool ch50, fasten off. Tie onto the top of the present.
