Crochet Halloween Pumpkin Bunting Pattern

Its time of year when its time for some Halloween decorations to be made, and first up is some pumpkin themed bunting!

I chose to add eye and mouth detail to these pumpkins but you could always choose not to add the mouth detail or create a different mouth design for each pumpkin on your bunting. I also opted for using triangle eyes on all the pumpkins but you could always change them to circular eyes or use a mixture of the triangles and circles on your pumpkins – patterns for both are included below. Another option is to not put faces on all of the bunting, or if you just want plain pumpkin bunting don’t use the faces at all.

You can also use the Halloween pumpkins from this bunting to make a different crochet Halloween bunting with a few more crochet Halloween designs, a some crochet Halloween coasters, crochet Halloween themed wall hanging or a crochet Halloween themed table mat. Halloween Pumpkin Bunting

Materials

• 6mm and 4.5mm crochet hook.
• 1 x 100g ball of DK wool in orange.
• 1 x 100g ball of DK wool in black.
• 1 x 100g ball of DK wool in green.
• Darning needle.
• Scissors.
• Stitch marker.

Halloween Pumpkin Bunting

• Orange wool, 6mm hook, 2 strands at the same time.

Make a magic ring, ch1, 6sc into ring.

Round 1: 2sc into each sc (12).

Round 2: 2sc into next sc, htr/hdc into next stitch. Repeat around (18).

Round 3: ss, 8sc, ss, 8sc (18).

Round 4: ss, htr/hdc, 3htr/hdc into next stitch, 5htr/hdc, sc, ss, sc, 5htr/hdc, 3htr/hdc into next stitch, htr/hdc (22). 

Round 5: ss, 3htr/hdc, 3tr/dc into next stitch, 4htr/hdc, 2htr/hdc into next stitch, sc, ss, sc, 2htr/hdc into next stitch, 4htr/hdc, 3tr/dc into next stitch, 3htr/hdc (28).

Round 6: ss, 4htr/hdc, 3htr/hdc into next stitch, 6htr/hdc, 2htr/hdc into next stitch, sc, ss, sc, 2htr/hdc into next stitch, 6htr/hdc, 3htr/hdc into next stitch 4htr/hdc (34).

Fasten off.

Pumpkin Stem:

Green wool, 6mm hook, 2 strands at the same time.

Insert hook into ss stitch at start of round 6, pull up loop, ch2 4tr/dc into same stitch, ch2, ss into same stitch.

Fasten off. 

Pumpkin Eyes – Make 2 Per Pumpkin:

Triangle eyes:

Black wool, 4.5mm hook, 1 strand.

ch4, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc along row (3sc).

Round 1: ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) sc2tog, sc (2sc).

Round 2: ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) sc2tog (1sc).

Fasten off leaving long thread to attach.

Sew eyes onto the pumpkin.

Circular eyes:

• Black wool, 4.5mm hook, 1 strand.

Make a magic ring, ch1, 6sc into ring.

Fasten off leaving long thread to attach.

• For a bigger eye size complete a second round with 2sc into each sc from the previous round (12sc.)

Sew eyes onto the pumpkin.

Crochet Halloween Bunting: Bunting Chain

Green wool, 4.5mm hook, 1 strand.

ch the length of string required.

Fasten off.

Attach the bunting pieces to the chain sewing the pumpkins to the chain by the stem.
