Star Wars Crochet Lightsaber Golf Putter Cover Pattern

Its been a while since my previous Star Wars crochet lightsaber makes and following on from my pervious golf themed Star Wars makes I thought it was time to combine a lightsaber and a golf club cover.

Star Wars Crochet Lightsaber Golf Putter Cover Pattern

Finished Size:

  • 28cm from top to bottom.
  • 9cm wide stretchy bit at the bottom.
  • 7cm wide upper section.

Materials

  • 4.5mm crochet hook.
  • 50g ball DK wool in grey.
  • 25g ball DK wool in blue.
  • 25g ball DK wool in red.
  • 25g ball DK wool in black.
  • Stitch marker.
  • Darning needle.

Lightsaber Body:

4.5mm hook, grey:

Row 1: ch26, htr/hdc into 3rd ch from the hook, htr/hdc along rest of the row (24).

Rows 2-17: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) into the back loops only: htr/hdc along the row. 

Fold in half so the 2 side edges meet then ss along the edge to join.

Round 1: ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) sc around into the ends of the previous rows, skip ch1 and ss into 1st sc at the start of the round (17). 

Round 2: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) (3htr/hdc, 2htr/hdc into next stitch)x4, htr/hdc.  Skip ss and ch2 and ss into 1st htr/hdc of the round (21).

Rounds 3-6: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) htr/hdc around, skip ss and ch2, ss into 1st htr/hdc of the round.

Change to black:

Round 7: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) htr/hdc around, skip ss and ch2, ss into 1st htr/hdc of the round.

Change to grey:

Round 8: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) htr/hdc around, skip ss and ch2, ss into 1st htr/hdc of the round.

Change to blue:

Round 9: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) in back loops only: htr/hdc around, skip ss and ch2, ss into 1st htr/hdc of the round.

Rounds 10-15: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) htr/hdc around, skip ss and ch2, ss into 1st htr/hdc of the round.

Round 16: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) (3htr/hdc, htr/hdc2tog)x4, htr/hdc (17).

Round 17: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) (2htr/hdc, htr/hdc2tog)x4, htr/hdc (13).

Round 18: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) (htr/hdc, htr/hdc2tog)x4, htr/hdc (9).

Round 19: ch2 (doesn’t count as a stitch) (htr/hdc, htr/hdc2tog)x3, htr/hdc (6).

Fasten off, weave around final 6 stitches and pull tight to close gap.  

Black Stripes – Make 9

In black:

ch19, fasten off leaving long thread to attach.

  • Sew black stripes onto the stretchy base section.

Red Dot

In red:

Make a magic ring, 5sc into ring.

Fasten off, leaving long thread to attach.

  • Sew red dot onto the lightsaber front.

Grey Button

In grey:

ch5, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc along row (4).

Row 1: ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) sc along row. 

Round 1: ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) sc down the side, along the bottom edge, up the other side and along the top edge.

Fasten off, leaving long thread to attach. 

  • Sew grey button onto the side of the lightsaber.
