Folded Crochet Ribbon Ghost Napkin Holder With Button Details

Only a few weeks left now until Halloween, don’t panic as there is still plenty of time to make some crochet halloween makes including these ghost napkin holders – these make up really quickly and will look great on a Halloween party table. You could also use them to put around some sweets as a Halloween gift. I’ve got a few more Halloween napkin ideas so keep an eye out for the next few weeks for some more. I made these with white wool but you could make these in any colours you like.

Crochet Ghost Decoration With Button Details

Materials

  • 4mm crochet hook.
  • 25g ball of DK wool in white.
  • 25g ball of DK wool in black.
  • Darning needle.
  • Scissors.
  • 18 white Buttons.

Ghost body:

Using a 4mm crochet hook and white wool:

ch100.

htr(UK)/hdc(US) into 2nd ch from hook, htr(UK)/hdc(US) along rest of the row.

Fasten off.

Ghost eyes – Make 2:

Using a 4mm crochet hook and black wool:

Make a magic ring, 8sc into ring, ss into top of first sc of the round.

Fasten off.

Napkin Band

Using 4mm hook and white wool, ch20, ss into 1st ch to make a round.

Rounds 1-3: ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch), sc around, skip ss from previous round and ch1 from the start of the round ss into top of 1st sc of the round.

Fasten off, leaving long thread to attach.

Assembly

  • Fold the crochet chain.
  • Take one of the buttons and cast onto the middle of the bottom of the folded crochet chain. Pull up through the bottom row and sew the next 2 buttons in place. Repeat with the remaining buttons, pull up through the row to the next row after attaching 2 buttons. Attach 1 button on the last folded section. Cast off on the top edge.
  • Take one of the eyes, sew onto the ghost. Repeat with the other eye.
  • Sew the ghost onto the napkin band.
