This Lego brick was previously posted way back in 2014, its now had a little bit of a spruce up and its back!.
Is it possible to have too much Lego around?….No I didn’t think so, which means its the perfect reason to make one of these giant lego block door stops. They would also make great mini cushions if you just fill them with only stuffing.
I decided to crochet the doorstop and chose bright yellow wool and a 4mm hook. I didn’t have a pattern, so had to put one together myself using inspiration from the knitting pattern here.
If you want a 4 dot brick check out this 4 dot giant Lego block. Or for Lego block tissue box cover check out this post.

Crochet Lego Block Assembly
Joining the sides:
- To attach the brick pieces together place two pieces right side together and use a row of sc stitches down the seam.
- Repeat this until all the pieces have been joined together – except for one seam.
- Turn the brick out the right way through the open seam.
Attaching the studs:
- Cut out round pieces of cardboard (4cm / 1 ½”) to act as the shape for the top and bottom of each stud (6 studs so 12 pieces in total).
- Place a cardboard round in the middle of one of the stud sections and using the long length of wool still attached, weave it around the edge of the crochet piece. Pull to tighten slightly but do not fasten off.
- Place toy stuffing into the stud on top of the cardboard round and place another cardboard round on top to enclose the wadding, tighten the loose long length of wool to secure. Fasten off. Repeat another 5 times.
- Sew studs to the top of the brick.
Once completed add stuffing to the brick through the open seam, if using as a doorstop add the weight now also. I used Wadding and playsand for this, but you coul also use gravel, dried lentils and pulses, or rice – anything that provides enough weight really.
Thanks for the cute idea. Hubby wants a door stop crocheted (had an old one that we had to toss)….so this is cute and easy. I hope to remember to send you a note after this is made. He loved the studs you added.

Thank you, would be great to see it when it’s finished. I’m hoping to get a few of these made soon, so there will hopefully be a few more appearing on my blog!
