Just had to make one more Santa themed make!

I’ve really enjoyed making all my Santa themed items over the last few weeks (storage baskets with beards and without beards), so I decided to do just one more (for now..!) and here it is – a Santa drawstring bag.

This is perfect for gifting things in this Christmas and I already have got a few made so I can pop some gifts into them.

Now its time to get a move on with my remaining Christmas ideas!

Santa Drawstring Bag Crochet Pattern

Materials

• 6mm crochet hook.
• 2x100g balls of DK wool in red.  
• 1x50g ball of DK wool in black.
• 1x50g ball of DK wool in white.
• 1x25g ball of DK wool in grey.
• Darning needle.
• Scissors.
• Stitch marker.

Finished size (approx.)

• 16cm Tall.
• 18cm Diameter.

Santa Drawstring Bag Crochet Pattern

6mm hook, red wool, using 2 strands at the same time.

Make a magic ring, ch1, 10sc into ring (10sc).

Round 1: sc around (10sc).

Round 2: 2sc into each sc (20sc).

Round 3:  2sc into next sc, sc into next stitch.  Repeat around (30sc).

Round 4: sc around (30sc).

Round 5: 2sc into next sc, sc into next two stitches.  Repeat around (40sc).

Round 6: sc around (40sc).

Round 7: 2sc into next sc, sc into next three stitches.  Repeat around (50sc).

Round 8: sc around (50sc).

Round 9: 2sc into next sc, sc into next four stitches.  Repeat around (60sc).

Round 10: sc around (60sc).

Round 11: 2sc into next sc, sc into next five stitches.  Repeat around (70sc).

Round 12: sc around (70sc).

Round 13: sc around in back loops only (70sc).

Round 14: sc around (70sc).

Round 15: *bobble, 4sc.  Repeat from * around (70sc).

Round 16: sc around (70sc).

Round 17: *bobble, 4sc.  Repeat from * around (70sc).

Change to black.

Round 18: 31sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 2sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 31sc.

Rounds 19-20: sc around (70sc).

Round 21: 31sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 2sc, ch2, skip 2sc, 31sc.

Change to red.

Round 22: *bobble, 4sc.  Repeat from * around (70sc).

Round 23: sc around (70sc).

Round 24: *bobble, 4sc.  Repeat from * around (70sc).

Round 25: sc around (70sc).

Round 26: *bobble, 4sc.  Repeat from * around (70sc).

Round 27: sc around (70sc).

Round 28: *bobble, 4sc.  Repeat from * around (70sc).

Round 29: sc around (70sc).

Change to white.

Rounds 30-33: sc around (70sc).

Round 34: *6sc, ch1, skip 1sc.  Repeat from * around ending on a ch1, leaving the last sc of the round unworked (70sc).

Round 35: sc around (70sc).

Round 36: sc around in front loops only (70sc). 

Round 37: sc around (70sc).

Round 38: *(tr(UK)/dc(US)) into next stitch, (2dtr(UK)/tr(US)) into next stitch.  Repeat from *around.

Fasten off.

Belt buckles

6mm hook, grey wool, using 2 strands at the same time.

ch8, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc along rest of the row. 

Fasten off leaving long thread to attach.

Sew belt buckles into place by threading through the gaps in the basket and sewing the two ends together on the inside of the basket. 

Drawstring 

6mm hook, white wool, using 2 strands at the same time .

ch 81, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc along rest of the row.

Fasten off.

Weave in and out of the gaps made by the ch1 skip 1sc on row 34.
