First a sneaky creeper now it’s time for a slightly more friendly Mooshroom cow blanket.

I really enjoyed making the Minecraft creeper blanket – despite the massive number of grannies I needed to make to put it together. I was surprised how quickly I got through them all to be honest and they were great to make when I only had a little bit of time free and before I knew it I had all 100 made. I do find it quite relaxing doing them (which is a good thing since there are so many!), as once you have done a few you know pattern so you don’t have to concentrate too hard while doing it. As this previous blanket went so well I decided to make another, this time I chose to make a Mooshroom cow. To make it a bit different to the previous Minecraft blanket I decided to use a different granny square and opted for a solid granny square.
Minecraft Mooshroom Cow Blanket pattern
You will need to make Solid Granny squares for this pattern, there is a how to guide for this: ‘How to’ make a solid Granny square.
Total number of squares: 100
White: 21
Cream: 4
Black: 8
Dark Red: 23
Light Red: 20
Red: 18
Light Grey: 4
Dark Grey: 2
To join all the squares I placed two of the squares right sides together and slip stitched down the seam with a needle. I added a round of dc stitches around the edge of the blanket to finish it off, I think it really makes the blanket stand out.
I’ve got a few more ideas for these blankets I am excited to try, I think I may be making a few hundred more granny squares soon!
