Needing a Pokemon themed room decoration or gift for a Pokemon fan? These framed crochet Pokemon blocks are the perfect idea.
You can choose the recipients favourite block to use; there are over 10 (and counting) different blocks to choose from in my Pokemon crochet block series and all patterns for these are available free.
Too many favourites and can’t decide on which block to make? make a few of these framed blocks and display them together as a bigger picture display. Or join a few of the blocks together using black wool and sc stitches and to put into one big frame.
Corner To Corner Crochet Room Decoration/Gift Idea: Framed Pokemon Block
Materials:
- Picture frame: I would make the block first before buying the frame, then measure the completed block to ensure the correct size of frame to account for differences in wool and tension.
- I used a square box frame with mount with a 15x15cm aperture in the middle – this size is based on a 16x16cm Pokemon block which is achieved using DK wool and a 3mm crochet hook. A bigger block of 17x17cm can be made using DK wool and a 3.5mm crochet hook. If you need a bigger block you can use a bigger hook size then measure the finished block to get the frame size required. If you require a smaller hook use a smaller hook.
- 3mm crochet hook for a 16x16cm (approx.) block. (or another size depending on the size block you wish to make).
- Piece of card the size of the frame to mount the finished block to.
- Glue/double sided tape for mounting the Pokemon block.
- Darning needle.
- Scissors.
