I thought I better get cracking on this make otherwise there would be no summer left to wear this lovely granny treble top!

I’ve been pottering on with a granny treble vest top from issue 22 of Simply Crochet magazine for a while now, picking it up between projects and doing a couple more lines before putting it down and starting something new! The other day it dawned on me – if I didn’t hurry up and finish it there would be no chance of wearing it as it won’t be long before summer is over and it will be too cold to wear.

I decided then that I would focus my time in getting it finished, and I was pretty surprised that I managed to get the last part of the back and a while front finished in 2 evenings – I don’t know why it had been taking me DK long previously – I should have just put my mind to it and I could have been wearing it weeks ago! But at least I have it to wear now – I absolutely love the colour, perfect for the rest of the summer – hopefully the weather cooperates so I get to wear it a lot!
I really like the pattern effect to – it’s amazing the detail that can be included when only a few stitches are used, perfect for anyone (like me) who hadn’t made too many crochet pieces of clothing previously, now my confidence is growing after making 3 clothing pieces I’m really starting to enjoy making them and think I can now get ready to start some more complicated patterns, although that may be a decision I regret once I start a more complex one!

Got to love a granny stitch, even better when it helps increase my adventures into making more crochet clothing!

This granny stitch project caught my eye straight away when I saw issue 30 of Simply Crochet magazine.  I really like the granny stitch, especially its versatility and the great effect it produces when it is used.  I have been looking for another clothing make to attempt since my last success with my crochet bobble jumper, and knew this would be perfect.  What made this even better was that I had the perfect wool for making it – a lovely coral colour.

This is going to be a gift for someone very special, I’m not going to mention names incase they read this before they receive it! I couldn’t believe my luck with this make – Both the pattern and the wool colour are just perfect for them I couldn’t have picked better, just look at the pattern, how could you not like the effect!

I like this one so much I think I might do one for myself, I will add it to the list!!
