Sneaking In A Little Crafty Themed Cross Stitch Sampler

IMG_2349

I managed to get all my Christmas makes completed in plenty of time this year (yey!) which meant I had time to fit in a sneaky make for myself before starting up again with other makes.

This cross stitch project I have been wanting to make for sometime but previously haven’t found the time to squeeze it in so was very pleased to be able to get started.  I saw this crafty sampler in CrossStitcher magazine Issue 287 (January 2015) and really liked the added the details of the buttons and safety pins.  I managed to get it all finished over Christmas – supported by a ridiculous about of christmas treats!

I opted to use grey aida instead of the white, and picked out some purple buttons as I have a load of buttons in this colour at the moment.  Some of the colours are slightly different to the original pattern too – there was no chance of getting out and finding the exact numbers over christmas so I substituted some in from my stash!

Now I just need to get a frame sorted so I can get it displayed up on the wall.

Now time to get cracking on 2018’s make list!

I made this cable tidy roll tutorial for The Craft Cotton Company using their gorgeous Grayson Fat quarter set.  Perfect for keeping all those unruly cables untangled and in one place so you wont loose any.  This would make an ideal Christmas present for anyone who has lots of cables which like tying themselves together!

The tutorial is available for free over on their blog, along with lots of other great ideas.

Crochet Puffin Hooded Blanket Pattern

Make your own circus of puffins with this crochet hooded puffin blanket pattern

Ive been working on a few more crochet hooded blanket patterns over the last few months and there are bits of different animals and birds gathering up in my craft basket and starting to overflow all over the place!. In an attempt to reduce the crammed conditions in the craft basket I have managed to get a few put together, the first is a very cute puffin.

The pattern for this is available over on my Etsy and Ravelry shops.

Following on from my dinosaur and dragon tail blankets is a crocodile tail blanket. I love making these tail blankets so it wont be too long until a few more patterns start to come together!

Etsy….

After a long time of deliberating over it I have finally decided to get an Etsy shop put together. I’ve always been too nervous in the past but I thought it was time to just go for it – Scary times! And quite fittingly my first listings are some very spooky crochet Halloween eyeballs, and a pattern to make them!
