I think blackwork is one of my favourite embroidery techniques, but it’s been a while since I completed some blackwork and I have wanted to make a little sampler of different stitches for a long time but just haven’t had the chance to get started on it. I decided the other day it was time to get it made!
I used some patterns from CrossStitcher Magazine issue from April 2012. I love these little sample squares and decided to do a sampler using 16 of them, it was not easy having to pick only a few of them as I wanted to do them all but I only wanted to do a small smaller for now.
I opted to use black and also put in a green and purple just to mix it up a little bit. I am so glad I have got this finished, I definitely won’t be waiting as long before I start my next blackwork project! Now I just need to find a frame I like and get it all pressed ready to go in!
I love how you’ve added the purple and green, it’s a lovely piece of embroidery. 😊

Thank you, I wanted to add in just a little bit of colour but wasn’t too sure whether it would work, so glad it came out ok!
