I thought I better get cracking on this make otherwise there would be no summer left to wear this lovely granny treble top!

I’ve been pottering on with a granny treble vest top from issue 22 of Simply Crochet magazine for a while now, picking it up between projects and doing a couple more lines before putting it down and starting something new! The other day it dawned on me – if I didn’t hurry up and finish it there would be no chance of wearing it as it won’t be long before summer is over and it will be too cold to wear.

I decided then that I would focus my time in getting it finished, and I was pretty surprised that I managed to get the last part of the back and a while front finished in 2 evenings – I don’t know why it had been taking me DK long previously – I should have just put my mind to it and I could have been wearing it weeks ago! But at least I have it to wear now – I absolutely love the colour, perfect for the rest of the summer – hopefully the weather cooperates so I get to wear it a lot!
I really like the pattern effect to – it’s amazing the detail that can be included when only a few stitches are used, perfect for anyone (like me) who hadn’t made too many crochet pieces of clothing previously, now my confidence is growing after making 3 clothing pieces I’m really starting to enjoy making them and think I can now get ready to start some more complicated patterns, although that may be a decision I regret once I start a more complex one!
