I have finally got some time now that all the Christmas makes are finished to get back to doing some other crafts which I enjoy, one of which is card making. This has taken a bit of a backseat over the last few months and as a result, my box of made cards has pretty much run out!
Today I decided I needed to stock it up a bit, and as I got some new card making bits for Christmas I thought it was a good time to try them out.
The first few cards I made were using my die cut machine, I have a sizzix big shot machine which I find really easy to set up and use. I got a new die cut for my machine for Christmas – a bigs die cut, birds number 3. I decided to use different coloured papers for the dies and backgrounds (docrafts papermania capsule collection – spots and stripes festive) and also used some large paper flowers I already had (Docraft papermania capsule collection – spots and stripes festive) and thought I would just see what the outcome would be. I’m quite pleased with how they have come out for a first go at using them, and I am looking forward to having a play around with them and some other different materials and effects.
I also received some materials from the docrafts Tilly daydream range, I think this range is very cute so was really looking forward to putting some cards together with it. For these cards I used a die cut decoupage (docrafts Tilly Daydream – swing) and a mini notelet (docrafts Tilly Daydream). The background papers and ‘just to say’ text were also from the docrafts Tilly daydream range.
The buttons I used on both the bird cards and the Tilly daydream cards were from the docrafts papermania capsule collection – spots and stripes festive range.
I am really glad I have managed to get back to making my cards as I really enjoy it and like all the different varieties you can make from a small range of materials. I look forward to making some more!
