Crochet Bottle Cover Pattern: Great Quick Make For Gifting Bottles

I had a bottle of wine to give as a gift for New Years, and wanted something a bit different to put it into rather than badly wrapping it or using a bottle bag. I decided to crochet a bottle cover to put it into, since as as well as looking good it would also come in handy for using when the bottle was on a table.

Crochet bottle cover pattern:

  • 4mm hook.
  • DK wool.
  • Stitch marker.

Bottle cover:

Round 1: make a magic ring, ch2, 5sc into ring.
Round 2: 2sc into each sc (10sc).
Round 3: 2sc into next stitch, sc. Repeat 5 times (15sc).
Round 4: 2sc into next stitch 2sc. Repeat 5 times (20sc).
Round 5: 2sc into next stitch, 3sc. Repeat 5 times (25sc).
Round 6: 2sc into next stitch, 4sc. Repeat 5 times (30sc).
Round 7: 2sc into next stitch, 5sc. Repeat 5 times (35sc).
Round 8: 2sc into next stitch, 6sc. Repeat 5 times (40sc).
Round 9: 2sc into next stitch, 7sc. Repeat 5 times (45sc).
Round 10: 2sc into next stitch 8sc. Repeat 5 times (50sc).
Round 11: sc around back loop only.
Round 12-37: sc around.
Round 37-41: sc2tog (once), then sc around.
Round 41-45: sc around.
Round for top border: 5htr(UK)/hdc(US) into next stitch, skip a stitch and slip stitch into next stitch, repeat around.
Fasten off.

I am really happy with how it turned out, and it’s recipient was really impressed with it, so much so they want some more in different colours for a party they are having…I better get making!
